Trust is a huge and essential element in the inter-relations between people. As children we trust the adults in our life to keep us safe. As we grow older trust is the base on which friendships and life mates are built.
Being trustworthy, a close cousin of the all-important element of honesty, is a way of living that extends to every aspect of life. It is not a given. Rather, it is earned through constant, repetitive actions that say in essence, “You can rely on me.”
